15 Types of Products: Marine Electronics & Software


1. Voyage Data Recorder

The Blu Veritas Voyage Data Recorder and its Protective Capsule was developed and designed in accordance to the requirements specified by IMO A.861(20) and complies with the standards outlined under IEC 61996, IEC 61996-2, IEC 60945 and IEC 61162.

The Blu Veritas Voyage Data Recorder is compact in size yet robust in features. Its speedy real time functions simultaneously download information even while recording is in progress, reliably capturing all cruising data. Its Protective Capsule is a sealed, watertight container designed to withstand extreme conditions.

This product is light and easily manageable for swift servicing and installation on either new or existing ships in the most time-saving, cost-sensitive manner possible.


2. Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS)

Safety comes first, especially on the bridge. Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS) ensures that the duty officer doesn’t unintentionally fall asleep by demanding action regularly, it guarantees alertness and reduces the chance of accidents.

The system is type approved according to current legislation for bridge nautical watch alarm systems as laid down by the IMO in resolution 128(75). Type approved by Lloyd’s Register, IVW, Bureau Veritas and Wheelmark approved.

3. Underwater Locating Device

The beacon is fitted to a protective capsule by means of a mounting kit. PT9 Beacon have been type-tested under the hardest conditions and in accordance with SAE AS 8045 and DIN EN 61996 requirements, and approved by the BSH (Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency).

On ships which are built on or after 1 July 2014, underwater locating devices must ensure a regulatory transmission time of at least 90 days.

4. Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB)

The SafeSea EPIRBs operate in the 406MHz satellite band. This is constantly monitored by Cospas-Sarsat, the international search and rescue satellite operator, who ensuring a rapid response when a signal is received, no matter where it is in the world.

All models are fitted with a 121.5MHz homing beacon used by rescue services for close-in location of vessels in distress. In addition all models are fitted with a high brightness LED strobe light for additional impact, especially at night.

All models can be fitted within an Automatic Release Housing (commonly referred to as ‘float free’).

Two optional housings for the SafeSea EPIRB are available. Both are manufactured in a durable and highly UV stable plastic and provide excellent protection of the unit until it is required.

The EPIRB can be easily removed from either housing. - MRH100 manual release housing - ARH100 automatic release housing, containing a hydrostatic release mechanism which automatically deploys the EPIRB if the vessel is sinking

Note: IMO regulations require an automatic release housing to be provided for mandatory fitted EPIRB’s.


5. Personal Locating Beacon (PLB)

Wherever you are at sea or on land, the rescueME PLB1 provides the reassurance that emergency services can be alerted by the press of a button. The rescueMe PLB1 can be operated with a single hand in even the most challenging situations. A simple spring loaded flap covers the activation button preventing inadvertent use. When activated the rescueME PLB1 transmits your position and your ID to a Rescue Coordination Center via satellite link and rescue services are promptly notified.

6. Search And Rescue Transponder (SART)


The SafeSea S100 SART assists in rescue and recovery providing an enhanced target in response to radars operating in the vicinity. When switched on the S100 remains in standby mode until automatically activated by a ship’s X-band radar. It then transmits a series of pulses which are displayed on the radar as a line of dots proving range and bearing to the emergency.

7. VHF Handheld Radio

The SafeSea V100 handheld VHF is designed to provide voice communication when it is needed most - in an emergency.

8. Marine VHF Transceiver

A Marine VHF set comprises of a transmitter and receiver and only operates on international channels which have the frequency ranges between 156.0 and 162.025 MHz. It is used for a wide variety of purposes, such as requesting for rescue services, collision avoidance, and communicating with ports, bridges and marinas.

9. Automatic Video Analytics Software

The demand for marine safety and security is increasing notably. Being able to travel safely at sea is both an economic and political issues faced by many, whether is it the movement of people or the transportation of goods and resources. Video surveillance aids in the alerting, tracking and detection of any unwelcome situations.

The software suite answers the need of an automatic video surveillance through the use of infrared or visible camera network.

10. Maritime Survivor Locating Device (MSLD)

The M100 and M100X MSLD (Maritime Survivor Locating Device) from Ocean Signal has been designed to meet the needs of the professional marine market and its offshore workers. The M100 and M100X can be fitted to a life jacket or immersion suit and will automatically activate on inflation of the jacket or on submersion when fitted to the suit. Once activated the M100 and M100X will transmit an alert to all AIS receivers and AIS enabled plotters in the vicinity. The M100 and M100X also transmit a 121.5 MHz homing signal in addition to the AIS. The integrated 66 channel GPS ensures a position update is provided every minute via AIS. The M100X is designed to meet the European ATEX directive and IECEx approval for use in zone 2 explosive atmospheres.

11. AIS Alarm Box

The AIS alarm box is designed to ensure that the moment any AIS MOB or AIS SART signal is received an audible alarm is sounded ensuring everyone on the vessel is alerted to a possible MOB or a crew in need of rescue. Its simple design, compact nature and use of NMEA 0183 means that integrating the AIS Alarm Box into your AIS receiver and existing network is straight forward.

The Ocean Signal AIS Alarm has the ability to be programmed by the user with up to 30 individual MMSI numbers, multiple tones to identify the source of the AIS signal (MOB or SART) as well as being waterproof to allow for external mounting.

12. Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS)

Navigator is a well proved intuitive and easy to use “Dual Fuel” Chart Handler made by mariners for mariners. First introduced in 1987, it has been upgraded to include the latest C-map kernel and it reads official encrypted (S-63) ENC´s (vector charts) as well as raster-chart data, (ARCS), SEAFARER, BSB, NOAA. Navigator operates with all major official S-57 chart formats from hydrographic offices, thus offering a high degree of freedom to the users.

13. AIS Man Overboard Device (MOB)

The rescueME MOB1 is intended to be installed within the life-jacket and will activate automatically on inflation, sending the first alert within 15 seconds. The integrated strobe light ensures maximum visibility in low light conditions.

14. AIS Class A Transponder

The ATA100 AIS Transponder is a fully compliant Class A transceiver designed to complement the existing range of maritime safety equipment from Ocean Signal. Used as an aid to collision-avoidance, the ATA100 combines the trusted technology and fluid product design that have become synonymous with Ocean Signal products.

This compact, single unit solution is capable of exchanging dynamic and static ship data with other AIS systems. Real time marine traffic information is continuously interpreted using a powerful internal processing engine and displayed on a 7” full-colour, rapid-response LCD. The coastline map view and radar view have various orientation display options allowing for user preference whilst a standard target list display gives immediate detailed listings of nearby vessels which can be sorted to the owner’s desire.

15. AIS Class B Transponder

The fully compliant ATB1 Class B SOTDMA AIS Transponder from Ocean Signal is the latest in a long line of essential sea-safety equipment developed and manufactured for the Maritime market. Designed as an aid to collision-avoidance, it provides a significant advantage in navigational safety giving you the peace of mind that your vessel will be seen day or night, no matter the weather, on today’s busy waterways.

Your vessel information such as position, speed, course and heading is ascertained automatically and continuously using the impressive internal multi-GPS receiver for accurate global positioning. Boasting 99 acquisition channels and 33 tracking channels, this advanced technology ensures that the AIS transmissions provide the most accurate indication of your vessel’s position at all times.
